Open case and put screws in sm |

2. Map the motherboard. This is important so you will
know where to replace the components. ·
Use grid paper at the beginning of computer
apps folder to draw a map. ·
Put y our names on the top of the grid paper.) |

3. Draw and label on grid the location
of: · □expansion slots, ·
□memory
slots ·
□cards, ·
□fan, ·
□battery
(do not remove) ·
□3 ribbon cable connections,(hard drive, floppy
drive, CD-ROM) |

4. Remove following components, using a
screwdriver ·
□Remove
network card ·
□Remove
the sound card ·
□Remove
the video card ·
□Remove
the CD-ROM (disconnect power cord and be sure to notice where ribbon cable is
attached!) ·
□Remove
the floppy drive (disconnect power cord and be sure to notice where ribbon cable
is attached!) ·
·
□Remove
the hard drive (disconnect power cord and be sure to notice where ribbon
cable is attached!) |

5.
□Remove the memory modules (be careful
to press gold pins on sides to disengage the modules) |
|
|
6. □ Identify the expansion slots on the motherboard (make sure you have them labeled on map) 7.
□Identify the power supply—DO NOT REMOVE 8.
