Preparing the hearts and minds of God's children

Welcome

Welcome to our website!

I have had the joy of serving Christ in four different Christian Schools in three different states and there is absolutely no other school my wife, Amy, and I would rather have our children attend. Here is a little taste as to why......

Much has been said about the state of today's youth in our country. Much of it has been negative. Here is a "state of our BCS youth" address. I have joy in reporting the following:

At 6:30 this morning, many members of the BCS boys' basketball team were participating in voluntary morning workouts. Many of these boys are the same students who loudly, passionately and with great sportsmanship cheered on the BCS girls' volleyball team to a big win last night in a match that didn't end until around 10 pm. Also at 6:30 this morning, the chapel team started showing up for voluntary practice to prepare to lead our school in worship tomorrow morning. Many arrived toting heavy backpacks with books from studying last night and sports equipment for today's football and other practices. Other students arrive at 7:00 am for Bible studies in various classrooms. Service clubs and honor societies frequently meet before school starts. Our Jazz band meets, practices and prepares twice a week before school starts as well. Many of these same students volunteered to lead tours of our campus for a large group of adults in Leadership Manatee, and we received glowing comments from the group concerning our student tour guides. Did I mention that many of these students also donated blood yesterday here at school to help save lives?

Seven colleges and universities are visiting our campus to recruit our students just this week, and I can tell the recruiters who have been here before as they typically say something like this, "We have BCS students on our campus and we love them. It is my favorite school to recruit from."

Coach Gerber told me an amazing fact the other day. Last year, we had around 400 sports participants out of approximately 260 middle and high school students due to so many students playing multiple sports. The amazing part is that with all the time, energy and effort that alone takes, these student-athletes still averaged a 3.5 GPA.

You parents are doing a fantastic job with these young people! Do they ever mess up? Yes, of course, they are kids. But I see the power of church, home and school working together here each and every day.

We are the Panthers!

God bless,
