USE PAINT OR PhotoShop Elements 3.0 SOFTWARE TO CREATE A PICTURE

OBJECTIVES:
Students will draw a landscape, fill with color and use spray paint to shade and draw. Darker spray paint will be away from the light source (sun) and lighter colors will be toward the light source.

SUPPLIES:
Paint program, colored printer and paper and mounting supplies.

DIRECTIONS::

• Open Paint or PhotoShop Elements 3.0 program.
• Click on the solid rectangle tool and drag from the upper left hand corner to the bottom right hand corner. (The rectangle should fill the visible space without scrolling.)
• Click on Line and shift and draw a horizon line.
• Using Fill tool, choose a sky color above and fill.
• Choose a grass color for below and fill.
• Draw mountains and a river using the brush with appropriate colors.
• Add clouds and trees using spray paint.

TIPS:

Make sure that colors closer to the sun are lighter and colors in the shadows are darker. Try different spray sizes. Notice that blending spray paint colors can create an impressionistic picture and create a sense of depth.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:
Make a color printout and mount. Hand in by the date stated.

GRADING SCALE: Based on 100% of the project. Each part is 25%.
