School Choice Scholarship Options for Eligible Students
Florida provides several school choice scholarship options for K-12 students.
Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options – Students who meet family income or other criteria may receive funds to attend a participating private school or for transportation to attend another public school.
Florida Tax Credit Scholarship – Students who meet family income or other criteria may receive funds to attend an eligible private school or for transportation to attend another public school or lab school.
Hope Scholarship – Students who have experienced and reported an incident of battery, harassment, hazing, bullying, kidnapping, physical attack, sexual offenses, threat or intimidation, or fighting may attend another public school or an eligible private school.
Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA) – Students with disabilities may receive funds for private school tuition and fees, tutoring, and other approved learning services and materials.
-
BCS is able to accept students who receive the FES-UA Scholarship.
-
Students and parents who are eligible to receive the FES-UA Scholarship will be required to provide a copy of the student’s service plan at time of application.
-
BCS will only accept students whose educational needs can be met by the school.
-
BCS does not receive federal funding, therefore students seeking a private school education that are recipients of the FES-UA Scholarship are considered “parentally placed private school children” and do not have the same individual rights to special education and the related services that students are entitled to receive if enrolled in a public school under the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA).
