Spiritual Life

At Bradenton Christian School (BCS), spiritual development is at the heart of everything we do. As a covenantal school, we partner with families and churches to nurture each student's faith and guide them toward a life of service, leadership, and devotion to Christ.

We have Bible courses that are tailored to the grade and maturity level throughout our elementary, middle, and high schools. In our high school classes alone, we offer a rotating variety of more than 20 different Bible courses, including semester courses specifically from the books of Romans, Isaiah, and Revelation. We also have courses that systematically explore and explain the truths and beliefs in the Christian faith, biographical church history classes, learning discipleship through the gospel of John, and many more. The Bible department is entrusted with the greatest, most important curriculum anyone could ever teach, the gospel of Christ. Through daily instruction, intentional discipleship, and opportunities for worship, our students grow in their relationship with God and develop a biblical worldview.

Daily Bible Instruction

Every student at BCS engages in daily Bible classes that integrate Scripture into academic learning. From Preschool through High School, students explore God's Word, develop a deeper understanding of Biblical principles, and learn how to apply them to their lives.

Weekly Chapel Services

Each Thursday, the BCS community comes together for worship, prayer, and teaching during chapel services. These gatherings provide an opportunity for students and staff to grow in their faith as a united body, hear messages from guest speakers and pastors, and reflect on God's work in their lives. Students even have the opportunity to serve by leading worship or participating in the production team.

Faith In Action

  • Service Projects: Students actively live out their faith through local, national, or organizing outreach events. Students are encouraged to use their gifts to serve others.
  • Spiritual Mentorship: Teachers, coaches, and staff serve as spiritual mentors, modeling Christ-like behavior and providing guidance to students as they navigate life's challenges.
  • Spiritual Emphasis Weeks: Each semester, we have a week-long opportunity to worship together every morning and hear a biblical message from an invited speaker. Our goal is for students to be challenged and encouraged in their walk with Christ.
  • Spiritual Retreats: We believe that, as followers of Christ, we should detach from the busy-ness of life and recharge through studying God's word with God's people. Each semester, we take students away for a weekend to retreat facilities to focus on doing life together.

Covenantal Partnership

As a covenantal school, BCS views spiritual development as a collaborative effort between the school, family, and church. We believe that this partnership is essential in raising children who know, love, and serve the Lord. Together, we cultivate an environment where students feel supported in their faith journey and are prepared to stand firm in their beliefs as they move into the world.
